COUNTRY RECORDING ARTIST LINDSAY LAWLER FINDS A FAN IN FORMER PRESS SECRETARY

Lawler's Music Strikes a Chord With FOX News The Five Co-Host Dana Perino

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 11, 2014) - After several weeks on the road supporting and entertaining the trucking industry in her 2014 Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour, country recording artist Lindsay Lawler made a stop in Washington D.C. on Tuesday - this time to support the remembrance of fallen soldiers at the Truckload Carriers Association's Wreaths Across America Gala and Fundraiser at the Washington Grand Hyatt. Kicking off the event with a performance of the National Anthem, Lawler later treated the audience to an hour-long acoustic set. Attendees included Pilot Flying JPrime Inc.TravelCenters of America (TA)Wholesale Truck and FinanceCargo Transporters, and Tennant Trucklines, among others. But perhaps the most notable attendee of the night was the event's keynote speaker, former press secretary and current FOX News Channel (FNC) The Five co-host Dana Perino.

"My parents back in Texas are a big fan of Dana's work, both for former President Bush and as co-host on The Five," said Lawler. "She's every bit as kind, intelligent and classy as you'd expect her to be. For her to in-turn admire my music is such a compliment."

A compliment indeed. Not only did Perino thank Lawler for her signed EP during the night's keynote speech, but she included Lawler's self-penned Highway Angel during Wednesday's episode of The Five. In a tweet posted shortly after her gala performance, Perino stated, "Lindsay Lawler sang a new song she wrote today, 'One Mile at a Time' at the @WreathsAcross gala in DC. Would be a hit."

The gala raised over $250,000 for Wreaths Across America, an organization established to remember fallen soldiers through the placement of holiday wreaths on veteran graves at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as veteran cemeteries across the country.

Lawler's 2014 Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour will resume next week, with stops in North Little Rock and West Memphis on the 16th and 18th, and will conclude with a finale performance at the TA in downtown Nashville on September 25th beginning at 6 pm.
